White Hackle Pipe Band
The White Hackle Pipe Band was formed in October of 1997 and is now in its tenth year of. The band meets on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM in the Foothill High School Music Building where Bill Adam is the music instructor.
At its formation the band consisted of six pipers, three drummers. Most of these pipers had played together in various bands. Since adding a beginning and intermediate class to the organization in 2007, membership has grown steadily and currently have 39 members on the roster.
The band has performed at Scottish games throughout Northern California including Fresno, Modesto, Pleasanton, Monterey, Campbell, Woodland and Dixon. Additionally, it performed for various functions in the Sacramento area and throughout Northern California, including the Gualala Arts Festival in Gualala, CA and the KVMR Celtic Festival in Grass Valley, CA. Furthermore, small units of the band as well as individuals of the band play for events in many areas throughout Northern California.
The members of the band wear kilts in the Modern California Tartan.
